Default Replace leaky Fast-idle valve or loop around?

Hello. 95 Civic here. I have a coolant leak which I finally found under the fast idle valve coolant hose when doing a seafoam treatment for sh's and giggles. It could just be that the hose isn't on all the way, I'll have to check, but in case the valve is hopelessly leaky, is it a better idea to replace it, or to just loop the coolant lines out of there? I have a manual, so the idle speed doesn't have to be as high in the cold as if I had an automatic (torque converters being harder to turn at idle than a clutch with the transmission in neutral), but is it a good idea to go without the FITV in the Civic?
Thanks for any insight. I really appreciate it.
