Default 2001 civic ex dead

running 5 min ago. Key to on position everything ok to start position dashlights out nothing all dead. no start. did this 3 months ago and it fixed itself.?
Ran good for 3 months. no issues. back again.

Battery is good - checks out fine. Previously we could dsconnect the battery, reconnect, dashlights came on. We push started the car as it's a manual
All worked normal. When key goes to start position everything would die completely. dont know what could disable everything..

Electrical portion of the keyswitch... ignition "pig-tail" is likely your problem.

thank you for input. hoping for random relay, hate working under dash. will get in with ohm meter and ring it out.
still dont get why no int/headlights/door locks etc, its like battery completely disconnected from car with turn of ign switch,,

ohmed out the ign switch , mostly good but start pos reading got goofy when measured half on and full on . does anyone have the pin out for the ign switch and corresponding connection table so i could verify my findings. most switches on the web are for other year or model hondas. havent found it in the chiltons manual im using.

problem re-identified..... all normal up to ign sw to start pos, when in start pos battery voltage is pulled down to 4 volts at battery fuse/ELD in fuse box and stays there even w key removed until positive lead of battery is r/r..... so far have changed ign sw, starter, battery re tested and charged. went to start position to get in fault condition removed starter cut relay, starter control relay, main ignition relay, stayed in fault condition...... no fuses being blown.......fault only occurs when ignition switch is put in start position.......

2 10mm nuts on plus battery cable.. one was loose!!!!! other tight holding cables in position but loose enough to keep max current getting to starter... still dont understand why 12v was held down to 4v after trying to start car, had to remove plus cable after each attempt to return to 12v... explains no dashboard display and all gauges bouncing after trying to start..
