Default Dash lights & License plate lights not working.

Hey all. I have recently manual converted my 1991 Ef sedan. I have changed over to the manual cluster and now my license plate lights and dash lights aren’t going. I have checked and replaced fuse No. 8 and has not changed anything. Any insight or help would be much appreciated. Thanks

Does voltage reach fuse 8 with the light switch on? If not, test the light switch.

Yes. It is receiving power. They also all worked before the manual conversion

What does not work?

Do the clock, radio light, and taillights work?

Yes they do, as far as I am aware the only ones not working are all dash cluster lights and license plate lights.

There's a broken wire in the circled area.

Are you sure? As problem only occurred after manual converting and changing to manual dash cluster. However I can check. Where would I find that wire?

Do you have a better alternate diagnosis that also fits with all of the information you've provided? Evaluate diagnostic information without any preconceived notions.

Trace the Red/Blk wire.

I never said you were wrong. Was just curious. As I asked where could I find that wire that may be broken?

Study the crude circuit diagram. It's the Red/Blk wire that runs between the clock or radio and the cluster. You can use a multimeter to verify or refute a lack of continuity between these points on the Red/Blk wire. If verified, just run a new wire between the points rather than trying to locate the break.
