Cluster lights

Cluster lights
I have a 96 Honda Civic ex. My speedometer, fuel/temp, and tachometer lights went out while driving. The turn signal, check engine, and those lights work. Could it be a fuse or a bigger issue?

Re: Cluster lights
Yes most likely the dimmer control but check a couple of other things first. First check that the tail lights and corner lights on the outside of the car still work, since they are powered from the same circuit at the light switch. Then there is a 3 amp fuse only for the dash lights. It is prone to blow if you have an improperly installed aftermarket radio.
The dimmer control pops into the dash, carefully pry it out with a flat screwdriver. Unplug the dimmer plug and jump the solid red wire to the solid black wire and turn the light switch on. The dash lights should now come on fully bright. If that works, replace the dimmer.
