Default J swap del sol

So I'm doing a j series swap in my del sol, I got the hasport v2 mounts, the 6 speed TL tranny and a j30a1 engine. But it only has 200hp/tq wich is pretty lame for the amount of work I'm doing. I looked into the j32 that makes 270 and can make much more easy, but then I have to sacrifice my hood. It's like 3 inches taller

Why not a Frankenmotor? Use a J32 block and the J30 heads and intake.

Yes only 200hp but the torque and lower rpm range is where the benefit is of a J vs a B, H, or even K series swap. Plus you can make actual use of two turbos

So, having never seen the engine bay of a Del Sol, much less one with a J30 stuffed into it; I read your post and thought, "Hmmm, two turbos, mounted on the roof of the car maybe."

J35A4 from the 02-04 odyssey is the engine you want. 240 base hp and uses the type S heads and cams from the J32A2 and cable throttle body. Honda tuning had one in an eg that made 267whp with just a CAI. They are in self service junkyards everywhere.

The 270 hp J32A3 from the 04-05 TL is drive by wire throttle with single square port exhaust heads.

I thought they only had the type-s heads, but different cams?

That article is pretty good, but one glaring falsehood is it claims the only TL 6-Speed manual transmissions came from Type-S models. Kind of funny, my non-Type-S has a 6-Speed Manual.

So does it come with type-s cams?

As many times as I’ve read that article, you’d think I had seen that before. I’m happy to learn that for sure as I’ve got a j30a4 in my EK and am looking into FI. I really don’t want to boost the J30 because of the frm liners, so this piece of info lets me know some good stuff! Could do J32 with those J35 heads and cams...
