Default 94 Honda Civic si B20vtec

Hello everyone. I have a 94 civic si hatch with a b20vtec in it. I bought it off a friend and it was running but idled under normally. My friend told me that it needs to be tuned since it has a type r head and cams. I was driving the car around here and there and I never was able to take it to get tuned. One day the car start sputtering on me when I would’ve drive at about 60 mph and it died. The car didn’t start back up after that. I ran the engine codes because my engine light came on, and it came up as a map sensor. I replaced the map sensor and also the tps sensor. The car starts but won’t stay on. I can rev the gas and it’ll help it stay running but still won’t help it stay on. It eventually shuts off. I’m not sure if it’s loss of fuel or what but I could use your guys help to figure out what it could be before I start throwing money into it.

A map sensor code does not necessarily mean the map sensor is bad.

What specific map sensor code was thrown?

Is the original code or a new CEL code(s) now thrown?

it was 3 fast flashes of the CEL that was thrown. It’s still just flashing 3 fast times.

It's an electrical problem in the MAP sensor circuit.

What ECU is running the B20?

Do you have a multimeter? If so, post pics of the map sensor connector and its three wires.

Its running a p28 with a 2 step so it has to have some type of tune. And no I don’t have a multimeter at the moment.

Before you have a tune, you must fix code 3. You can fix code 3 yourself or pay money to a mechanic. If you prefer to fix it yourself, purchase or borrow a multimeter to do proper diagnostics.

Turn key to ON(II).

In the wire harness connector, use the middle Grn/Wht wire as ground to measure voltage at the (1) Wht wire or (2) the Yel/Red wire.

Post the two voltage readings.
