I have a squeaking problem... ideas please.
Well I have a B16 in my 93' CX. Runs great, no problems performance wise, but upon acceleration or an occasional shift there is a sharp squeak. This can also happen on idle when the car has been sitting for a while. My first thought- hey its probably a mount, well all the mounts seem to be in great shape and I can't replicate the sound at all by pushing on the motor or an individual mount. Seems like the sound is almost motor related, possibly worn out bearing somewhere? The squeak does seem to be from the front of the engine, I was also thinking maybe it was something header related.... any ideas, anyone have a similar problem they fixed? Thanks guys.
Does your car have air conditioning. If so I was hearing a squeak from my '99 Si. It sounded like a belt. I had the belts change but the problem persisted. One daywhen leaving the gas station the tensioner for the Air Conditioning belt fell off the block. The bolt had busted. I don't have the use of my AC anymore but that squeak is gone.
Yeah, thought about a belt but, I dropped AC when I did my swap and my CX never came with power steering. Thanks though
