Default Opinion on silicon hoses

Ok I finally got the 95 looking like it should but wanna replace the 24 year old hoses. Is silicone style coolant hoses good to go with? Its a d15b7 engine

Hmmm, one or the other, either looks (silicone hoses) or good sealing ability (rubber hoses), not both.

Well that's depressing cause I found a awesome blue kit that will replace all hoses including the intake coolant hoses on eBay for 40

I mean I've ran silicone hoses on all my cars and never had issues. Just keep your clamps tight lol

The silicon hose kit I'm looking at come with that band clamp style that has the screw

Silicon hoses won't leak as long as they're clamped properly.

Although I detest any color that's not black.

Just another data point, unless every attachment point for silicone hoses is basically new/perfectly clean, leaking, regardless of how well clamped, is a distinct probability. Given how old the OP's car is, I strongly suspect the attachment points are less than perfect.

I can see that argument. OP, definitely clean the contact points for the hoses and make sure they aren't rusted or extremely dirty. With some prep, I really don't think you'll have issues.
