Those prices would be insane for this car, but I agree it'll end up being pretty high. It's definitely in mint condition, easily one of the cleanest 100% stock/OEM ITR's still in existence, possibly the cleanest remaining one period.

That mileage is almost disturbingly low though. IMO these are cars meant to be driven and enjoyed, it would have been nice if that engine had more of a chance to stretch it's legs in the last 21 years, but at the same time that's likely why the body and interior are still so perfect.

Anyway, I'm also very curious to see what this ends up going for.

Know for a fact that at least one buyer is good for a figure above $50K. I'd imagine that he won't be the only one, so I honestly see this car approaching or eclipsing $70K.

It's the best ITR known at this point. '97 is the year everyone wants and right now people are playing the mileage game because they feel the ITR be the next "it" car in the future. I have my reservations about that, but who knows.

Not surprising given the recent rapid rise in value. Think E30 M3...

Still have to do a double take at price like that though !

I'm as big of an Integra fan as anyone. I mean, die hard Integra enthusiast. But this is just ridiculous. It's not like it's in unattainable condition. Press in a new set of Hardrace bushings, slight rebuild on the engine (hone, re-ring, bearings, etc.) and you have a Type-R that's arguably in better shape than this. And if the argument is interior such as front seats, I'm sure for $64k you can recreate USDM ITR seats out of brand new material. That's seriously a stupid amount of cash to drop on a COMPLETELY stock Type R. -rant over-

No matter what you do to any other Type R, you can’t say it only has 1,191 original miles and is all original. There are things that rebuilds and restorations can’t replicate, and that is what people are paying for.

I agree with you 100% from a practicality standpoint, but I think you need to understand that for some people (who value the "collection" aspect of cars like this) the value comes from the car still being "pure" from the factory. Original engine, no rebuild. Original interior, no patching or replacements, all original body and paint. This is, for the most part of the definition, a brand new ITR from Honda 21 years later.

If you just wanted a fun car that's quick, aesthetically clean, and immaculate, then yes you could absolutely build an ITR (even a legitimate one with a valid serial number) for much less than this. But the value comes from this being completely original.

Also it being super low mileage and original, a basically brand new undercarriage is worth a lot imo. The whole caR is mint from top to bottom.

I'm wondering what made the seller sell it at this particular moment? I don't think it's for the sheer money aspect (or I could be mistaken) but wouldn't holding onto it even for another 5 years increase the value even more?

It's a gift that Honda sold such a jewel of a driver car for such a low price --> which allowed average people to enjoy the crap out of it without worrying about putting too many miles on it for fear the resale value would drop.

The very few ITR's left out there with low miles like this will be worth a fortune in $, but they will now forever be museum pieces like supercars that never get driven...

I wouldn't trade the 220,000 miles I put on my ITR for anything.

I understand that you're trying to convey that these cars should be driven, while your opinion is respected, there are people who achieve the same level of satisfaction by not driving them and just looking at them parked inside a garage.

Anyone listen to the commentators when the ITR rolled across the block? They really had no effin clue about the car and what it stood for. One of them said the car was turbocharged. smh
