Default F22b2 vtec?

I've read that the F22b2 is not vtec . I bought an Accord with one and it sounds like vtec engages at about 5300rpm maybe somebody put a new head on it before I bought it?

It will say vtec on the valve cover...different cap..etc

That is just the F22B2 engine hitting the strong part of it's power band. As mentioned above, if the valve cover doesn't say VTEC, it doesn't have it.
