I did some searching on the forum and did not find anything, but I'm sure this has come up before.

To start, the car was running fine and then I pressure washed the engine bay. I didn't do a very good job of covering the electronics (I know shame on me). Anyway, the car started initially after the wash but after a few second it started to miss fire. I drove it about a mile to my house and now it will not start. The check engine light is on reading a code 72 (misfire in cylinder 2). I changed the spark plugs and check the wires for spark. All spark plug wires are working. I also checked the plugs for the injectors with a test light. They all pulse when the engine in cranked.

Also during cranking, the car sounds normal but every couple seconds it makes a different sound almost like it is putting a stress on the starter motor. Hard to explain.

Looking for ideas of what to try next.

Disconnect the battery. Remove the distributor cap and unplug the spark wires and all the sensors (be sure to make labels and/or pictures so you can put them back right). Let everything dry out for a couple of days.
