2000 Civic harness problem - Advice requested
Ok TODAY, I swapped out a Y8 in a 2000 EX that the previous owner had swapped in, Alas the previous owner blew the y8. I purchased this EX in beautiful condition for 500, I put a 98 y7 with the engine harness and computer back in it and damn if it wouldn't run, I discovered that the 98 computer and wiring harness are of course different from the 2000 EX, just a bit frustrated I discovered that it was the fuel pump that wasn't coming on so I ran a 35 amp relay that I actuated off of the stereo power supply, Car fires up and runs like a Swiss watch. PROBLEM the OBD2 / ALDC connector is dead, Anyone have any suggestions for an easy fix to this, I know it's as simple as wiring something the right way.
It should be dead if you had kept the y8 harness and extended whatever plugs needed to be extended in order to work with the y7. Different ecu plugs
Thanks Guys, This post was put up by my kid on my handle. I had that all figured out just didn't inform him. I have the wiring harness in the car and it runs like a dream. Problem though. The damn thing has a PO136 that I just can not seem to get rid of. I started with Bosch O2 sensors cause that is what the Parts Box down the street had in stock and is was 3 days out to get the Denso O2's the Bosch seemed to work. Alas when I try to get the monitors to set so I can smog the damn thing, I drive it and it has a PO136 pending. I need to get this thing going so that I can put my kid on the road as he got a job merching for 7up and it won't smog until the monitors set and that isn't going to happen with a pending code. Anyone ever run into this if so I could sure use the help. Thanks Eric
