Default y7 to a y8 wiring?

I am swapping a y8 motor into my 98 civic hatch. Can I use the wiring harness off my 98 dx and just wire up vtec wires onto the harness or do I need an ex harness? I searched and couldn't find out about this.

yes you can, or you can buy a 96-98 EX engine harness + ECU and you won't have to wire jacksh*t up for vtec; vtec will work ie. Plug n' Play.
