Hi everyone,

Thank you ahead of time for any help or insight you could provide. Here is my situation. I recently picked up a 2012 Honda Ruckus with 140 miles that sat for some time. Cleaned the carb (jets/needles- did not soak body), replaced the fuel pump and verified I am getting fuel to the carb, replaced the runner diaphragm , drained the fuel, replaced the spark plug. The ruckus starts right up and sounds good then idle comes down and it shuts off. It will start again but idle is very low and when let off it dies. If I pull off the airbox cover it will run, but definitely not 100%. Adusting the air/fuel screw doesn’t do anything unless completely removed and still isn’t running right. I’m stumped. Getting fuel, compression and spark. Could it still be a carb issue? Do I put the carb body in an ultra sonic cleaner? Could it be valves? I wouldn’t think so with 140 miles, but who knows. If anyone could help point me in a better direction it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Having the same issue with a buddy’s ruckus that sat for about 2 years. All fuses are good, new fuel pump, cleaned the carb, drained the gas tank and made sure gas was getting to the carb, and fuel filter is clear. I tried bypassing everything by gravity feeding gas to the carb but no luck. Not sure what else to try and also, I tried spraying starting fluid through the intake and it will only run a couple of seconds. Please let me know if there is something else I need to try.
