wiring for injectors
my wires that go to my fuel injectors burnt up-too much load i think. my question is, are these wires shielded type, or is it regular wires. im hoping to solder new wires to fix this.
setup: b18a block,
b16: head, pistons, ecu, injectors, and wire harness all from the 99-00 si.

Normal OEM injector wires aren't jacketed with the grouding line, what gauge of wire were you using??? I always use 16 and it works just fine... Laterz
the stock wires were the ones that burned. i'm thinking that i should rewire it with one guage thicker, so it doesnt happen to me again. i'm gonna try to take out the wire pins and solder the new wires directly to those, so i wont get unwanted resistance in the connections.
Aslo, one of my wires for the distributor split open somehow too, are these wires shielded type?
and how can you tell if its a shielded wire or not.
thanks

Where is the distributor wire split at??? Most all of the distributor wires are shielded.. They will be the ones for CKP, CYP, and TDC sensors... If your injector wires are burning up then there is a reason for it.... a short maybe... anyways go to a smaller gauge if you want but there is really no reason if there is nothing wrong... Keep us posted
yeah im not sure what wire it is, but i had these wires taped up temporarily for quite some time now. i never had a problem of them burning up again, even durring racing conditions. But its time i'm gonna get it fixed while my car is going through custom body work and paint job.
