1999 civic sir/si constant transmission whine
Purchased the car a month ago it has a B16A with a B16A2 transmission and after one day of going out for a hard rip I heard a whinning sound when I stopped, pushing in the clutch did nothing and the noise was constant. The noise is still existent but only after warming up the car and when driven harder the noise is much louder. Almost like a whirrling sound. Only hear it when I'm stopped or rolling and it doesnt matter if I'm in gear or not the noise is still existent. I noticed on the first hard drive that when shifting 1st to 2nd my car had rev hang around 7k rpm almost like tire spin but it wasnt. This still happens although I rarely do it as I'm scared of blowing my trans. Not sure if that related or not. Wondering if any of you have had this issue and/or know the issue with my transmission.
Thank you.
Thank you.
THROW-OUT bearing
Might as well get an upgraded clutch and rear main seal. Go easy on it after installation (for at least 500 miles) or you'll be replacing the clutch again.
