Hi guys, i wanna put a f20b blue top jdm engine in a 2002 honda accord coupe v6. Will the f23a cross member work in the v6 chassis? i heard the v6 is a bit larger. will the f23a mount points match the f20b? will the f23a axles work?

 

I dont know the answer to the questions, but I have another one for you, why replace the j-series with an f-series?

 

The main reason is the glass transmissions j series come with, and the manual swap is super expensive. The F series doesnt have the tranny issue and has the same 200hp, also better mpg.

I have never driven my 2002 accord coupe before due to getting it with the wrong transmission installed. It has a BGFA (01-03 CL) 5 speed transmission on a jdm j30a, that cnt work im told due to the ecu.

opt # 1..........get the right 4 speed transmission B7XA
opt # 2..........get the j32a2 engine,wire harness and ecu to fit BGFA tranny
opt# 3...........get the j32a2 top half with harness and ecu and fit on j30a frankenstien more power than stock j30a and can still use acura tranny.
opt# 4...........get a 4 cyclinder engine do a complete swap for better fuel consuption and no tranny issues

 

Ok, I was wondering, thanks. Hopefully someone with more knowledge jumps in then. Have you looked at prices for the j32, or have a nearby junkyard you could grab all that stuff from?

Bro your best bet is getting a accord with a f20b then trying to swap out the v6

 

Better yet. fix the V6 Accord, sell it, and buy an otherwise identical I4 Coupe with a manual transmission. This course of action will cost you a LOT LESS time and money.
