front upper strut bar. cause rust?

i got extremely clean strut towers. would you put a strut bar on? do they cause ware to the paint and cause rust over time to the strut towers? would a layer of tape or something help prevent this? or can u tell me im just being crazy lol

depends on which bar, how you mount it and what hardware you use.

rust/damage - daily driven through chicago winters for 10+ years and 10+ autocross events per year.
I've had so many different bars on my car I've lost track, very minimal wear anywhere.

IMO, if the bar moves, is it really doing any good?
