So a few days ago it seems like my ignition cylinder failed(it had already been tampered with before by the previous owner but i hadn't known), I was in a drive thru and went to park to eat my food and when I went to start the car it wouldn't start. All of the dash lights and whatnot came on but the car itself wouldn't start. I take it to a shop to have it looked at and it seems as though my assumption was correct about the ignition cylinder, I tried to replace that but I bought the wrong one and it didn't fit. In order to get my car home for the night I turned the car over with a screwdriver inside the ignition switch. It started fine but as soon as I was pulling out to leave the car just shuts off and does nothing, not even dash lights. Fast forward to today and I buy a new ignition switch thinking that was the problem and still the same result. The starter and alternator are new, the fuel pump has been fine and the battery is good. Anyone have an idea of where to look?

 

 

No luck. Anything else I can try?

 

Check all of your fuses. Is it possible something got hooked up wrong and blew one of the fusible links?
