Default Mini me ignition timing

Hi, I’ve googled this and have had no luck at finding anything. I just finished my car with a D15b7/Y8 mini me build. Has a alright size cam also. My question is how do I perform the ignition timing without a lower timing belt cover since the marks are on there. The bottom cover was tore up and couldn’t be reused. It has a little detonation and I would really love to minimize that. If anyone could shine some light on this I would really appreciate it. Thank you much for any help.

You need to replace your timing covers. Also for the minime mechanical timing issue see the FAQ sticky. In the FAQ you will find a link to the B7/Y8 minime write up.
