Y8 head swap PLS READ
Let me start by saying that I have done some searching and did not find a conclusive result. I have a 00 lx civic (d16y7) and I want to put a y8 head on it (I believe this is called a mini me build?). Some threads say that I need the p2p ecu, but then I see that they are talking about a manual car. If my car is an auto, then do i still need the P2P or is the P2E fine? also, with it being an auto, do I need the two prong on the intake, or the 3 prong on the y8 intake? Thanks, i really appreciate it.
no, you won't. the y7 and y8 use a different automatic transmission. change the ecu and not the transmission= shifting issues. for the money and work, you are FAR better off converting to manual.
So I have a 2000 honda Civic saudan with a D16y7 automatic transmission an I put in a y8 motor and transmission from a ex not sure exactly what year it came out of but it was like 99 0r 2000 then I wen to a junk yard and got a y8 harness now my transmission will only work for I think first and 2 its a automatic transmission dkw to do can someone help me out
