on this, your best bet is OEM Honda but any name brand is going to be fine, just stay away from cheap ebay offbrand crap

I've used Fel-Pro with no issues

OEM on the D17, unless you're using boost, then cometic or OEM.

Sadly, it's not the head gasket quality that leads to failures as much as the health and abuse of the cooling system and engine.

are you torquing in the proper sequence and steps and to the proper torque ? if so, it's likely the head or block are not straight enough

did the head overheat ? was it resurfaced or straightened ?

I lean toward using OEM parts on all Honda motor vehicles (cars & motorcycles) for several reasons. 1. I don't like to compromise proven (Honda) quality, 2. Aftermarket parts are LOWER QUALITY than OEM (Honda), 3. I've had recent difficulty with aftermarket suppliers selling me the wrong parts for Honda. I have a LOT of experience, knowledge & training. I've been fixing Honda cars & motorcycles since 1974 (44 YEARS!) :-)
