Default 03 EP3 ECU Tuning?

So, I've been doing all kinds of research to see how I can build my K20A3. My other question regarding this is, how do I tune my ECU to be able to run all the mods after installation? Even just tuning in General? Lol.

Kpro. Get a new one or send yours off. Otherwise, standalone ECU management.

If you're not messing with the cams, injectors, or boost, you really *don't* need a kpro, but it always helps

I put a KPro on my A3 in advance of my upcoming K20R swap. Makes a *huge* difference, the car is actually pretty fun this way. I'm enjoying it, b/c since I don't care about the A3 I increased the redline to ~8200....

Yeah there's more power up top, but the rods and crank of the A3 are weak, so take care when upping the redline. Or just ******' send it

I was planning on changing out my rods, heads, and cams. Then I was trying to look into how I'm gonna make that work with a kpro.

Find a shop that tunes kpro. Not worth ******* up your build imo

Alright. That helps. That's what I was thinking of.

Seems like just buying a swap would be a more direct route to automotive joy than polishing the turd of an A3.If I was building a motor it would be the K24 block/k20A head frankenstein not the A3.

Not everyone has the f[inancial ability to pay $800+ for that setup. kpro is a good investment in that the engines can be swapped without messing with the ecu other than new tuning. I'd get kpro, save for a swap, then get it when I blow the A3

OP: " I was planning on changing out my rods, heads, and cams. "

That's $800 and then some.

OP: Buy a different motor (and build that if you want); don't build the A3.

ETA: I mis-typed A2 above when I meant A3, made my initial post really confusing. Fixed it.

Well what I'm saying is you'll need kpro to put in another motor, certainly anything modified like a frank. So get the ECU first, that way when you score the engine it's good to run asap

I agree with that for sure, the Kpro made a huge difference in my A3. If my new motor wasn't going to arrive this week I'd keep driving the Kpro'd A3 and enjoy it.

Or just flash it while you have the A3. Hondata will then give you a credit on the whole Kpro package. Better to do it in increments, unless you're fully agreed to doing the swap 100% down the road.

Well I was thinking about a Z3 swap. For the cams and other things I found a setup for forged pistols and Rods with the cams under 1k. The only reason that I'm finding it hard to swap is my other financial obligations and I live in Hawaii where everything is f'n expensive. I mean it's 8 bucks for a gallon of milk. And there isn't that much people locally willing to sell a motor for less then 1k.
