Default 4th gen prelude “overheating problems”

Fans running, coolant in car. But when driving a little bit then idle for a bit temp gauge goes to max heat. I turn the car off and on, temp reads regular.

Also when idling without driving temp gauge stays at regular operating temp. (idled for an hour)

what could cause this? Bad temp control sending unit? Idk

Sounds like a little bubble in the cooling system. I would just burp it out the cap and bleed valve, with the front of the car raised.
