Default Coolant temp gauge went down to bottom when crusing

Hi

Recently I noticed that the coolant temp gauge of my Odyssey van went down to bottom when I was cursing on the highway, around 60mph. It went back to around two fifth after I slowed down in the city street. My other civic maintained the same temp on the same highway with around the same temp outside.
I had replaced the timing belt and water pump (OEM parts) a few months ago, and thus flushed the coolant. I had checked the level of the coolant and it's full. And the car warmed up normally (except I can feel that the engine surged slightly when idle.)
Any idea?
Thanks in advanced.
