B16A, does the drivers side axle have teeth all the way around the inside on the female end that goes onto the intermediate shaft? mine has two spots that are bare and have no teeth... I shifted into 2nd hard in vtec and something broke. 1) my car started having very hard steering(I have no ps but it was worse then usual) 2) engine would actually stop sending power to the wheels for a second while driving, as if missing splines or slipping clutch 3) loud clunking noises coming from drivers side while turning either direction. i removed the axle removed boots looks brand new only noticeable thing is "missing splines" in female end. jacked up with axle removed car goes trough gears normally, no noises
