Strange noise from my 2.2 Diesel engine - Already invested 1.5k, I'm desperate
Hello guys,
I have a Honda Accord 2.2 i-CDTi from 2004.
I am starting to get desperate. My english is not the best so I will try to explain everything best I can.
Before starting, here is the video with my engine awful noise: youtu.be/oxh8HknRBrc
These are the steps I did:
1. More than 1 year ago, the noise started
2. I changed my serpentine belt, tension pulley and other stuff there.
3. I changed my alternator pulley.
4. I changed my timing chain kit (minus the small kit for the oil pump - chain, tensioner)
5. I changed my crankshaft pulley.
What is strange is that after I changed the crankshaft pulley, they noise got like 2x, 3x LOUDER! My old crankshaft pulley was gone either way... and now with the new one, the noise is WAY more louder. The mechanics say that they old damaged crankshaft had also a different noise that was actually covering the OTHER metal noise..
I don't have a video with the old noise... it was the same noise, but not this loud..
So what are mechanics saying for now:
1. Since my kit didn't contain the oil pump chaining kit, they said that there's the problem.
2. Another one says that the crankshaft pulley is not OEM and even though is new, the noise if from there and I should get a OEM one
As you can see in the video, the noise is just there, around the crankshaft pulley and there is also the oil pump chain, behind the crankshaft pulley.
If I open the hood, the noise is not there... you can barely hear the noise from the top of the engine.
What do you think? What steps should I take further? I already invested more than 1500 eur and it's still not fixed...
Thank you guys!
