Default 04 Civic keeps running hot

I have a 04 Honda civic, and it keeps running hot. It's been going on for about 2 months now. I took it to a mechanic and he put a new water pump and timing belt and thermostat on. It was running hot when we would drive around for at least a good two hours or if the car was drove all day. It's not losing coolant, we had the oil changed it's not milky like it could be the head gasket and no smoke comes from the hood or converter. Just yesterday we took the thermostat out and drove it for 20 mins to make it home, and it never ran hot. I'm.just lost as to what it could be. After spending 200 dollars for a new pump and belt to get put on and it's still doing it. I love my car. Someone please help me find out what it is. Thanks.

flush the coolant system, could have a clog. Do you see temps creep up at a stop? Do the fans work?

when you took the thermostat out did it get hot if not it could be that your thermostat is not opening therefore you might need a new one witch is cheap and easy to change yourself if not make sure there is no air in the system and check your radiator cap look for leaks and small things first. i would like to add does the car stay cool at highway speed then when you get off does it and drive slow does the car heat up if so its most likely a head gasket problems i just got mine replaced last week i had to resurface my engine.

Its been flushed and the temp will got to mid way the start going up slowly and back down then when I go up hill or hit the gas harder it goes up to hot. Both fans do work also. Idk what it can be

We out 3 different theromostats in the car in just 2 days. I'm leaning towards the head gasket but there's no signs at all I took it back to the shop they are running a compression test today. It has a new water pump timing belt radiator and now a new resivor with a new cap also. It's been flushed and the fans work. But even after all that it still runs hot. When it starts to go over half way on the temp the ac stops blowing cold and the heat also blows cold. I'm not sire what's going on.
