My moonroof will move but only if I manually move it the switch makes a clicking sound when I hit the buttons to open or close the roof how do I diagnose the problem and fix it?

 

Have you checked the fuses yet? If not, check passenger side under-dash Fuse No. 1 (30A) and Fuse No. 7 (20A).

To rule out the moonroof swtich, pop the switch out and unplug the harness connector.

• To test if the moonroof opens: With spare piece of wire or small paper clip, jump terminal no. 2 cavity (Blk wire) to terminal no. 6 cavity (Gry/Yel wire) of the disconnected harness. Turn ignition switch to the ON position (car not running). -- Make sure you correctly identify the wire terminals before doing so.

• To test if the moonroof closes: With spare piece of wire or small paper clip, jump terminal no. 2 cavity (Blk wire) to terminal no. 5 cavity (Yel/Red wire) of the disconnected harness. Turn ignition switch to the ON position (car not running).
