I-have-an-89Si-and-think-it-is-a-good-idea-to-put-the-H22-in,-but-what's-the-deal-with-the-H23?I'm-not-to-familiar-with-motors-if-you-can't-tell,but-I'm-trying-to-do-good-things-with-the-89.So-please-comments-and-suggestions.

place racing makes a kit to put n H22 in a 3rd gen, i think the mounts, axles, wiring harness and what not run about $1500, plus the price of the engine itself, whcih is anywhere from $2000-$3000

 

Geez.Kinda-pricey,-is-there-a-more-cost-effective-way-to-upgrade?A-cheaper,-but-worthwhile-motor-I-should-know-about?Maybe-something-I-could-drop-in-with-the-least-amount-of-difficulty-and-money-spent.

h22 is a 2.2 liter DOHC VTEC engine, with 195-200hp. While the h23 is a 2.3 liter DOHC non vtec engine with 160 HP.

 

H22a1 was 190hp, but yeah the H23 is a non-vtec making less power (160hp). It has good torque though.

 

the only diff in the h23 is the head, crank,pistons and rods, the blocks are the same! Honda just stamped h23 on it look on an h23 back side by the timing belt on the back

 

and piston oil squirters

 

what tabout the tranny on them? does the h23 have longer gears then the h22
