Default Mugen header sounds like a tractor with test pipe.

Hey guys, I have a B18CR engine with a mugen header on it. Right after the header I have a flex pipe where the cat is suppose to be followed by a vibrant resonator. I had a varex adjustable muffler put on it to make it stock quiet whenever I need it to be. The exhaust piping is all 2.35 inches. I had a yonaka muffler on it before that was giving out because it no longer was as quiet as it was when new. Now that it is REALLY quiet, I can't help but notice what seems to sound like an exhaust leak between the header and flex pipe. It sounds like a tractor whenever I step on it. I can assure you though that there is no exhaust leak. I have on all my gaskets and spring bolts. My question is, could I weld in a small resonator to replace the flex pipe right after the header to get rid of this strange noise? This noise is actually louder than the muffler itself.
