Need opinions for type r jdm header **what are you using?**
H-t
What's up guys? I have a omni power test pipe to fit my jdm header. The problem is this i have this damn noise coming from the exhaust. It sounds like a damn leak everytime i step on the gas it's not a solid sound. I thought i would hear the exhaust all the way through with the new cat-back. Instead i get this annoying sound out of it..like paper hitting wind. What could it be? I was thinking that i was jsut hearing the exhaust flowing through the test pipe. I checked for leaks and i can't find one. I really want this sound out of hear.
What do you guys use for you header.
Test pipe or hi-flow Cat which one is working with the inlet of 2.5
Thanks guys

You sure your not hearing the raspy noise a test pipe creates?
I have a DC sport header and Magnaflow resonator out to a Thermal cat back and it's rather raspy when I get into it.. but that's caused from the SC...

Well if the test pip makes a raspy noise...then thats what i may be hearing. I just thought it would be making a solid sound all the way through.

Nah no heat shield. Just the pipe. I just don't like it, i have the windows rolled up with the a/c on and you can hear it from inside the car....Just gets a little annoying sometimes. I thought about putting a cat on there but how will that work out. Does anybody have any experience with a hi-flow cat?

Yup a brand new s2000 gasket. It did the trick. I'm thinking that its the way the test pipe sounds. RASPY like a 80 year women whose smoked her her whole life. I have to deal with it. If there is any other ideas...I can look for something later. So keep the ideas coming. Thanks

Re: (hatchish)
As far as the gasket goes yeah it did the trick of fitting on the header properly. The leak is still there.
The slip joints. I don't think there is a leak. I checked with my hand and had my cousin rev the motor a lil. I didn;t feel a leak of air sipping through. I don't know what it is. Maybe it's jsut the way it sounds.... Either that or i'm not revving it high enough or something

i'm pretty sure it's just the sound of the test pipe your hearing. Mine sounds exactly like what you described. I dont' have an omnipower pipe, but i thought i had a leak when I put it on, but nope. You'll get used to the sound tho.
