Default Vibrant Muffler too loud?

Wednesday this week, I had a shop install a 2.25in custom catback with Vibrant Performance 18 inch bottle resonator and streetpower flat black muffler. Now, being open chamber, I expected the muffler to be loud, but it creates this really loud, deep hum in my ears that isnt so pleasant on my daily commute. The exhaust note sounds great otherwise. Is there anyway to get rid of this somewhat "droning" effect? It happens when more than I would say 5 percent throttle is applied throughout the revband. I've been considering replacing the bottle with Vibrant's Ultra Quiet to tone it down, or just adding it to the system in general. Thoughts? Opinions? I would prefer not to have to go to another muffler setup if possible. It already sounds really unique in my opinion.

I am also trying to find a nice set up for an exhaust. I have the same problem with an ebay muffler that came in the car. I was thinking about purchasing a 20" vibrant muffler 2.5 for my car.

like dont get me wrong. Vibrant sounds amazing. Theres no rasp to it. Its a nice, deep sound. Granted, my manifold and cat are stock, but even so this is still quite loud, at least for my ears.

my car doesn't have the cat and my exhaust drones a lot especially at high way speeds. You think if i do a vibrant with a high flow cat would soften the sound a bit? I like the fact you said it doesn't rasp but when your on the highway does it drone at all?

I would say it hums pretty hard in your ears. If your off or slightly the throttle, it should be ok, but I would recomend the Ultra Quiet Resonator if so. If you can handle it being loud, then the 18 inch bottle they have should be enough. Im questioning if I should replace mine with the ultra because I dont want to deal with the ear hum anymore. Its not at a specific rpm range but throughout the revband for me. However, I have an EM1. Gears are crazy short in those so 5th gear is like 3.5k at 65mph.

I also have a EM1, the gears are super short. Yeah I dont want load but I do want something deep when I do step on it. The ebay fart can kills me every time i step on it and on my commute (more highway), it keeps me from enjoying the car. I'll prob look for the ultra quiet resonator my self thanks for the input

no problem. Yea the B16A2 is very nice with a deep tone exhaust. I cant handle magnaflow or can mufflers honestly. I've never been much for a Campbell's sponsored exhaust lol. With the Vibrant, I can still hear a muffled crackle that you hear if the muffler wasnt there. Its the best part about it. Just too loud XD. Definitely get a resonator no matter what. One might even help with your can too.
