Recurring P0303 Cylinder 3 misfire
2001 Honda Accord EX 4-cyl VTEC
I've had the issue for a few months now...rough idle without stalling, you can feel the slight misfire up to around 2.1k rpms then it steadies itself a bit.
I've just replaced the IAC, had a valve adjustment, compression test (numbers even along all cylinders), cylinder leak test with air (no leaks), new plugs and wires, new dist. cap and rotor, cleaned the throttle body...and yet the CEL comes up every week or so.
Wondering if anyone has anything similar going on, or could know what steps to take from here, as I'm not trying to sink a bunch of money into things that don't need to be replaced.
The only remaining things I can think of to check would be a cylinder drop test, a fuel injector test, and potentially replacing the fuel filter/fuel pump assy.

Wonder if the EGR valve is not fully closing, this would cause some rough running as it allowed exhaust gasses to leak during idle and low speed engine operation, yet work fine at part throttle cruise.
What does plug #3 look like? Since the plugs are new I doubt its a plug/plug wire issue. But you can still easily swap the plugs and see if it follows the plug or stays with the cylinder. Swap the injector with another injector and see if the misfire follows the injector you know what it is. If it stays it may be a problem in the injector connector or wiring to it.

Do you have access to a scanner that can view live data? If so, what do your fuel trim numbers look like? Within +/- 10?
