Check engine light comes on with oil light
I have a two wheel drive 1991 Civic Wagon. Yesterday I'm driving home doing around 55mph when all of a sudden the engine died with the check engine light and oil light coming on. I pulled over let her rest and tried again. She started fine and we hit the road again. Two miles later she did it again at around 55mph. So I limped into a Jiffy Lube and while they couldn't help me the let me hang out until AAA arrived. While waiting I let her idle for over a half hour with no issues. Does anyone have any suggestions on what I should do next?
Have you done any diagnosing at all? Usually when an oil light comes on, the last thing you want to do is keep the motor running.
If you don't have an electrical problem, you probably don't have oil pressure. Has it had an oil change in the last 5 years?

haha thats a good one
sp33 is right thou you must check and see if your oil level is right at the second dot on your oil dip stick
and do not over fill thinking that overfilling will give you oil pressure thats wrong and also not the way that works
from what your telling us here it sounds like your getting weak spark
so when you give the motor throttle and forcing it at all it just says "nope no way im tired "
to check for weak spark you have to start from the spark plugs #1
checking them not just replacing them and then wires #2 and then the coil in the distributor #3
but check it all first before buying stuff and just throwing it on there
make sure that what your replacing needs to be replaced
if you need an help on how to check these 3 things let me know
