Hello, I'm trying to diagnose a transmission before I yank it out. I had the transmission out previously; a community member install synchrotech carbon synchros in the GS-R/B16 Cable YS1 transmission. He also installed an LSD which turned out to no function. I never drove the transmission with this LSD more than 15ft. I put a quaife I had in, sealed it up, back into the vehicle (92 integra). I'd ask him to take a look; however, he passed away.
So I've been doing the maiden voyage thing, I apologize if this is unclear; however, since it's a purpose-built track car, it's tough to find time to take it out on the streets. I'm unable to downshift into second from third. I usually end up trying to force fourth and then back into second, or first into second. 1->2 is questionable. Fourth can be non-extistent at times as well. I figured issues with 2-4-R may be due to the linkage. Replaced the linkage with new Innovative linkage, new shift setup, and that didn't help. I put new synchromesh in the transmission. Same problem. I decided to check the detent ***** & springs and they were fine. I thought I might've crushed them, but that wasn't the case. I'll likely pull it out, but I'm wondering if anyone has any thoughts or has run into an issue like this before. Seems like at this point, best case: remove and disassemble transmission and find something simple. Worst case: I decide to quit dicking with the transmission and order a new one.
At this point, i have this gsr ys1 and a LS ys1 from a 92 on the shelf...

Whenever you either change the shafts, the cases, or the differential you must recheck the clearances and adjust accordingly if needed using the appropriate shims. It sounds like this is needed.
