Default 2013 Si - 2nd Clutch Release Bearing at 56k

At 33k about 3 years ago, my car was making a humming noise when engaging in 1st gear. Sample noise from YouTube:

Took it in and they replaced the flywheel, pressure disc, friction disc, and clutch release bearing. My car started doing it again about 6 months ago at about 52k. I haven't seen a recall for it, and Honda said my car is out of warranty.

The issue seems pretty common per a quick internet search. I don't want to drop over $1k every few years just to fix this. Is there an aftermarket solution so I can resolve this issue for more than just ever 25-30k miles?

You're saying the sound completely goes away when you replace clutch parts ?

Yes, and it goes away for several years.

You're not putting very many miles on it. Do you not drive it much or is it a lot of stop and go/city driving?

i'm wondering if the clutch free play is somehow out of adjustment, are you constantly riding the clutch when driving around

I mostly drive to work 5 days/week in pure city driving. I might take expressways twice a month.

I've never dealt with the clutch free play, but I'll give it a look.

I don't constantly ride the clutch. I mostly get to cruising speed and then put on cruise control to save on fuel. My current MPG is at 26.4 in city.

Also, the hum is more frequent and pronounced in wet weather.

There's a reputable independent import mechanic in town. I plan on giving them a call and see what they think about the issue. I will let you guys know what they say.

Try it in second, take off and see if it hums. Does it happen when you shift or just when you take off ?

try spraying some lithium grease where the slave cylinder end ball rod meets the fork or take it off and put some directly on the ball piece

I don't know what the issue might be. You do a lot of city driving but even so it shouldn't go out that fast.

It happens in second as well, but only when I take off. After I get going, it doesn't happen anymore.

I'll give the lithium grease a shot. Thanks!
