yep, I don't have a knock sensor.....the engine light is on in my B16A, I will get one when I have the money to put a new one in...but it will not hurt engine. Just make sure you don't have "knocking in engine" otherwise could hurt the engine.

you might be able to get away with using high octane fuel

Its not hard to wire. if that is your problem. just run a wire from D3 on your ecu. you should be running a p30 ecu.

I've been driving around for 6 months with a code for the knock sensor flashing, so I think you're fine.

well the thing is that i do have the knock sensor on my b16a, but im not positive that my wire has it. the wire harness is from a 94 eg si (d16z6) some people say that the d16z6 has a ks, but some says they dont, i know that the d16y6 does, but im unsure of the d16z6. if so, then does the wire harness have a plug on it for the knock sensor or not???? that is the big question. because on my wire harness, i have a plug for the knock sensor (dont know if its the right plug, but thats the only plug left in that area) so i just really want to know if my wire harness came with a ks plug. thanks a bunch!!

The d16z6 does not have a knock sensor on the harness. I cut mine off of my JDM harness, I will see if that harness has another plug that is the same on it or not. If it doesn't I'll take a pic of it tonight and send it to you so you know what to look for. You can get just about any kind of shielded wire to make it work. Just make sure it goes to plug D3 on your ECU. I am not sure what gauge wire I am using but I will let you know that as well after I get home and look at it tonight. Hopefully i will have an extra one on my JDM wire harness though. I'll keep ya posted.

BTW Are you running a P30 ECU?

hey thanks Blk93Civicsi, thats all the answers i need. i still have the JDM wire harness that came with the swap and im probably going to cut that and connect it with a gauge wire. but im now wandering what that extra plug on my si harness is for because i believe its brown, has red and green wire going to the plug? not positive on that though. and yes, i am running a p30. thanks everyone!!
