1994 Accord wont turnover. Will start with push
I have a 94 manual Accord LX. This is my D.D. It was sitting in my driveway for about 8 months. I recently was able to fix it had it running. About a week ago I tried starting it and would not turnover or crank. When I put the key in the ignition, all my lights work fine (interior and exterior), radio works well, brake lights turn on when suppressed. Whenever I gave my car a push, it started just fine and ran like normal. I'm not sure what the problem is. Ive asked around a received multiple unsure answers. The battery is new but could be an issue or ive been told it could the starter. If I could get some insight to my problem that would awesome. I'm 24 and still car pooling with my mom because of this. HELP A BROTHA OUT!!!!!!! Ty
Did you check the eraser nub on the clutch pedal? If it was sitting it may have dried out and broke. That would be one of the first things I would check.
I didn't know there was an eraser *** honestly but I will check it. I had my battery in another car I was driving while this one sat. So the battery is still fresh I would assume. But I'm going to get it a charge and tested to see this weekend.
Its the clutch neutral safety switch. When the rubber pad breaks the button just goes through the pedal and the car will never crank. That has happened to every Honda I have owned at some point.
Did you find little pieces of what looks like white or blue crayon in your foot well?? If so what isubexi said is the issue. The part is 4$ from a dealer
Okay so I want to first thank everyone who has been helping me recently. This forum seems like a great community with awesome people that actually try to help. Once again thanks. Y'all are awesome!
Now here's the update: I let my car sit for this past week. I've checked underneath the clutch pedal and I don't see any white or blue debris. I had my neighbor look being that he's more automotively inclined than I am. He didn't notice anything unusual with my clutch pedal. But I randomly decided this morning to try and start my car without pushing it and it started right up with no problem. Now at this point I'm beyond baffled at what the heck is going on with this thing lol. Any insight?? Prior to today I had to push it to start and after a week of sitting it started fine.

My next thought would be main relay or ignition switch. Both are commonly faulty. Generally I find the main relay to be an issue if the car is hot, so if the car is sitting in the sun and the inside of the car is hot it may not start until it has cooled down. The ignition switch is just a random issue for me, it would work for weeks and one day it just wouldn't start. The main relay you can pull out and solder the cracked leads and the ignition switch can be cleaned but they are cheap to just order on amazon. I would also consider ignitor as being an issue, that's common as well, at least for me. If the ignitor is faulty your car may start to bog/stall at certain rpms or just die and then it wont start for a while then magically it starts again. very frustrating, sometimes your tach will bounce all over then the ignitor is going out but that's not always the case. This happened in my prelude recently, I had swapped in a new Distributor and the cheap ignitor went out within a few thousand miles.

Are you still around?? I want to know what you meant when you said "gave it a push..." I know what a rolling start with a manual is but that is not what you said. I am having an issue with my accord and your statement is the closest thing i have found anywhere. Anyways. Hopefully you respond. Thanks.
