Use EX resonator/muffler on LX?
Hey guys I was wondering if I buy an aftermarket EX cat back exhaust could I just use the resonator and muffler sections and bolt it to my LX intermediate pipe? I know the difference between ex/LX and how the cat is in different locations. The ex cat back comes with 3 pipes and I don't see why I couldn't just use 2 pipes and bolt it to my LX pipe?
They're not cross compatible, because the flanges are in entirely different places, as well as the oxygen sensors. To run the EX cat-back, you'd need the EX catalytic converter, exhaust manifold, and an extension for the secondary O2 sensor.
Im not talking about a cat back or anywhere near any of the o2 sensors.. I guess since the flanges are in different places though answers my question. I wasn't sure if the ex had the flanges in same location seeing as how the axle back mufflers are compatible. After looking at my car closer there isn't a flange before the resonator at all and it's welded. I thought since aftermarket kits come as 3 pieces that bolt together, maybe the stock set up bolted together as well.
