Default Changing the thermostat.

I have a 2001 cg8 1.8is... the water is not circulating & when I feel the hoses...the hose from the thermostat housing is cold...I have a stuck thermostat...on trying to remove the stat housing ALL the inserts in the plastic housing are turning...anyone have a solution to stop these inserts turning & allow me to remove the bolts & change my thermostat.

On USDM/JDM cars the thermostat housing is all aluminum as well as the intake manifold. No plastic nor inserts.
Maybe its a Swindon Accord/Rover 600 difference, or a F18B difference. Check on the Rover(600) boards for any info on fixing that.
