Weird rusty metallic smell coming through my vents?
hello I have a 99 civic coupe ex and every time I turn the heat on through my car a very pungent metallic smell comes out. Smells like rusty metal to me. I saw a post similar to my problem claiming it was the spark plugs misfiring but I removed all the spark plugs and reinstalled them but nothing. Any one else have this problem? If so how did you fix it? Really trying to get this smell out.

Can you smell it outside the car? If it's coming from something under the hood, open the hood and locate it.
If it is only inside and you have A/C, the drain hose could be stopped up allowing swampy water to accumulate in the evaporator box.

Can't smell it outside so I will check under the hood tomorrow since it's cold as heck outside in Chicago right now. Any remedies to this problem if it is the evaporator box?
