Just had a bad week with my turbo d16y8 build, cam journal siezed up and broke my cam and gear, It made 323whp with a Zex 105300, wondering how much power that cam was really worth? Anybody experienced in d series know what a stock y8 cam will max out at?
Cams are over-rated on FWD Hondas. People ask me why I didnt run aftermarket cams in my car. Why? so I an make 30 or so more peak HP. I have to pull power with boost by gear like crazy as it is.
Yeah thats true too, And it will be interesting seeing the exact difference I guess, so along with budget not really bein there looks like stock cam it is lol

Bold statement. I really wouldn't go that far as to say all that. But camshaft profiles do have the ability to change characteristics & behaviour. There's more to B-series turbo Honda than just power.
It's not a matter of "maxing the cam out" itself. It's going to be a combination of parts making the power and making the power at x rpm. At 320whp, I doubt the efficiency of the oe cam and gear was overrun in whatever the combination was.
