2006 Civic SI no movement when in gear
I'm working on a 2006 Honda Civic SI. The vehicle will not move when in gear and doesn't stall. If it's in 1st it seems like it's not engaging. No work has been done to it yet because of it happening the day before we got hit by a blizzard. At first we were thinking it was a burnt clutch but are now second guessing since we've never encountered the issue of the car not moving or not stalling when put into gear with just the clutch being bad. In our opinion it isn't actually going into gear because it's giving no signs of it engaging: no noise, lunging, no anything.

Have you tried engaging the clutch in any other gear? My FA5 will start moving quite easily in second gear as well as first. Try seeing if the car will move in second and even third (if on a slight downhill, third is easier than on level ground). If there is no clutch engagement in any gear, you might have a blown CMC ( clutch master cylinder ), or a clutch slave cylinder.
The owner of the vehicle couldn't get it to move in any gear including reverse so it was towed to us. Unfortunately it arrived the day before we got hit with 14+ inches of snow so we haven't been able to dig into it much. My husband did see that everything is moving the way it should be but when it's put into any gear there's no indication that it's engaging because of there being no noise and no movement whatsoever. He initially said that the clutch burned up because the owner mentioned that he did smell burning clutch when it happened but when he'd put it in gear nothing happened.
With the engine running, put it in 3rd gear and let the clutch out... then rev the engine. Does the speedometer read greater than zero ??? If so, it is likely that an axle has popped out of the transmission or is broken. If not, I suggest you remove the inspection plate below and look for a worn out clutch.
That's exactly what we're going to be doing in the morning. We're just looking for other opinions as to what it could be since we haven't been able to dig into it yet due to all the snow we got and the owner of the vehicle is needing it back as soon as possible which is why we want to get as many opinions as possible. Thank you all for your input it is greatly appreciated!

Absolutely TomCat39. The design of the factory helical LSD transfers torque to the axle that appears to be slipping... a popped out or broken axle forces the diff to direct power to that location. The end result is you go nowhere.

We were finally able to dig into the car today and crimped the lines to thw master and the slave cylinder and the master held pressure but the slave didn't. We completely forgot about the axles and are going to check that tomorrow. In the meantime though is it possible to get no movement with a bad slave cylinder?

If there is air in the hydraulic line between the clutch master and the slave cylinder, you will not get any movement of the slave cylinder itself. You may want to bleed the hydraulic system and see if the slave movement comes back. But this still doesn't explain the vehicle not moving.
