hello. I have a 96 Integra and it rattles a lot inside. The engine itself doesn't look shaky, and all motor mounts are in good shape. Any ideas why this is happening or what I should do?

 

Are they OEM or aftermarket mounts? Have you watched the engine when throttle is applied in park/neutral to see if it moves?

Stiffer than OE mounts can cause this. As can an engine that is running rough or misfiring.

 

Mounts are oem. It's also rattling I side when the car is idiling in neutral. Could it just be all the panels are lose?

 

Yeah it’s possible if it’s just rattles, you could check for missing screws and clips on interior panels.

There is a big difference between vibration and rattles. My CRX has stiffer mounts and a B18, the whole car vibrates inside and you can feel it everywhere. Of course, it rattles too. But if you are having just rattling without vibrations, then yeah it’s probably not a mount issue.

 

Yeah that's what I'm thinking. It's mostly fine while driving, it's only annoying when idling but the interior is kind of a **** show at the moment so I'll just work on that. Thanks guys
