Default Diagnosis needed: Excessive engine vibration in vehicle

I have an issue where I'm getting to me way to much vibration. Its to the point that the dipstick vibrates the headlights my seibon hood and the bumper shake alittle. Even the screws on my sparco wheel are coming loose constantly this is only happening at idle when the car is hot. Car does have avid solid mounts and does run good. Idle is at about 800 when it vibrates like this any help is apriciated

Did you seriously need to ask this question then?

My car vibrates like crazy with only one solid front mount to the traction bar from the tranny. The other three mounts are rubber.

Its because its a tin can with an oversized, tuned motor. I can't imagine what it'd be like with solid mounts.

Certain rpms will resonate worse than others, trying adjusting your idle to 1000.

I do have 3 solid mounts. Now I have a obdiia car I would like to get my idle to 1000 because I also get this annoying rattle from the hatch when the idle dies down to 800 when I cold start and it goes to 1000 its how I would like it I read that the ecu controls idle and adjusting the screw will mess with the ecu and throw a code is this true or can I just adjust the screw and get it to 1000 that way

Need more info, year and engine model, what ecu? Are you running any engine management software with the ecu?

I'd honestly put the idle up to 1200 or possibly even as high as 1500 if he's trying to daily the car or drive it in the street with those mounts.

Or, you know, put in some more reasonable mounts if you don't want to deal with the vibration issues.

not trolling I just bought this car how it sits. Its a 1997 integra L's stock p75 I do not daily it but drive it spirited when I do I'm not expecting it to not vibrate and rattle I was worry that it was more then normal I would like to raise the idle its much more tolerable at about 1000. Does the ecu control the idle or can I just raise it via the screw

there's really no need for stiff mounts in a stock ls integra lol. I say just get some stock mounts and throw em in. or keep the stiff rear mount, but put stock mounts on the driver and passenger side

Agreed, you should use oem mounts. Don't mess with the idle screw.

I thought by having stiffer mounts you must have a tuned engine with some kind of management that would let you change idle speed. If not, don't mess with anything.

The car used to have a 600hp type r in it and basicly the only thing that's different now is it has its original engine and transmission in it. I am going to build this car so the ls will not be in there for long the hatch is gutted and this is a really nice autox car as it sits I just would like it to not vibrate the steering wheel screws loose and stop this rattle that comes from the rear of the car when it gets to the warm idle. Is there any way at all I can raise this idle just a little bit this rattle comes when it goes to 800 and that's it. It really would be a lot better to idle at 1000

Please learn what punctuation is, and how to use it.

I'm assuming if you want a higher idle than the 750 listed in that thread you'd just need to set the screw beyond the 450 mark when resetting it. Try about 700.

You shouldn't, if there's a CEL after disconnecting it, the CEL should go away again after a little while of having it reconnected.
