Accord 1994 LX/EX Auto sohc 2.2... is it vtec?
I am really confused since I never knew sohc can be vtec as well... so I'm trying to do some research and coming up short.
Does my Accord have vtec or not? About to do timing, head gasket, oil pump etc. Full rework cause it bleeds oil like a stuck pig.
Can someone help me I.D. this without a doubt?
Here is the VIN if that helps.

VTEC engines tend to have, in really big letters, 'VTEC' on the valve cover.
Usually only EX(USDM) or EX-R(Canada) have the F22B1(VTEC) engine.
LX models usually have the F22B2(non VTEC) engine.
If the spark plug tubes are facing away and pointing more towards the intake, not VTEC
If the spark plug tubes are on the radiator side of the valve cover, it's VTEC.

Thanks for all the replies. What does the vtec solenoid look like and where might I locate said engine stamp?
Obviously since its an LX/EX and VIN doesn't say engine code I think my confusion is warranted.
I'm a Ford guy I don't know this Honda stuff
Does having vtec or not even matter for water pump/timing? Im assuming the head gasket matters for sure.

LX and EX are completely separate trims, just to clarify, its one or the other.
Here is where the stamp for the code is located, right on the front next to the exhaust manifold.
There are also other ways to tell the trim of the car.....EX have rear disc brakes. All other trims have rear drums.

Unless someone did an engine swap, putting your VIN into the hondapartsnow or hondapartscheap.com will often get you the correct OEM pieces and you can XREF from there.
