Default Suggestions needed: Moroso 20911 vs.the Moroso 20910 Oil Pan for a B18 turbo build

Hello everybody I need some help on purchasing my oil pan. I'm building up a turbo b18 civic and I'm gathering parts little by little. I'm looking into Moroso oil pans and I'm not sure which one I really need. If one makes a difference over the other. I'm between the Moroso 20911 and the Moroso 20910. I see that the only major difference is one holds 5.5qt of oil and the other holds 4qt. Has anyone experienced any builds with these oil pans. I've also heard that one is more for street and the other is more for drag. I'm going to be doing more street than drag. My car will see the drag strip about 2 times a year. I gladly appreciate anyone's suggestions and recommendations. Thank you.

The 5.5 quart pan leaks like no other, not just mine but lots of peoples. I am running the standard pan now and it is doing fine. If you are buying a Moroso pan to use the front bung for your turbo return line dont bother. The bung is in a bad position for a lot of set-ups. I had to put another bung in mine.

That's what I would recommend as well. Should be a sub-$100 job to get the AN bung ordered, then take the oil pan to a local shop to have it welded in. Make sure you mark the proper location for them to install it.

If you plan on doing any track racing/autocross then I'd recommend getting a baffle welded in at the same time for insurance.

Leaking when using the high capacity pan in Aluminum (part # 20901) is common. Not so much for the steel ones (part #'s 20910 or 20911). However, using the newer composite oil pan gaskets cures the leaks for good... so you can have greater oil capacity and be leak free, regardless of which pan you choose... aluminum or steel. The "MyHondaHabit" gasket is pricey, but it works. I understand that Fel Pro has a new gasket that is similar (part # OS-30630-T), although I haven't used one yet to recommend it. The turbo drain bung is another matter all together.

I noticed that too. There was tiny pore in extension parts upper weld seam, I fixed it by putting weld spot on it. Problem solved. Mine is steel one (#20910).

But it is little shame that quality control is so low (especially when there read "Made In USA" in box) because idea is good (extra oil volume, basic baffle design, additional connections).

I had leaks with the moroso 20910. It would weap oil through the spot welds where they affixed the baffles.

Now running a myhondahabit gasket and OEM pan with a weld on bung for turbo return and baffle. On my second baffle. The first baffle cracked apart. This time we put more welds on the baffle than suggested.

I have a Moroso 20910 and it amazes me how bad the welds are, especially for the price you pay. It looks like it was done by someone who was learning to weld. Mine leaked through the welds, and because I had my oil return bung welded in a different location as stated above, I didn't want to send it in for replacement, and the repair at Moroso would have taken too long, so I paid to have it done locally. After that, it leaked at the gasket, even with the stud kit. We tried a new gasket and it still leaked. Finally, I tried a My Honda Habit gasket, and it still leaked. It's not that bad, though. It's not dripping, I just see a film where it creeped around a bit. At my previous oil change, I noticed a small amount of oil on the tip of the stud above my downpipe. I did another oil change last night and it had stopped. Maybe the My Honda Habit gasket swelled, like some have said it would, and stopped the leak?

Dude same here. I ended up drilling out the spot welds and re welding them

My advice, find a stock pan and weld it where you want it.
