Default Lost keys 90' civicwagon help

I recently bought a 1990 and it's in pretty well condition b15 auto interior is mint and has tons of new parts. It only came with one key and I did the dumb mistake of not keeping the single key on my key ring with my 97 ek and cannot find it anywhere around my house. I'm hoping somebody can help me with ideas on how to either unlock the car or if their is a set of keys I can buy, I'm assuming like most other hondas their is a set number of keys for the ignitions and locks might be wrong though. Can I call a locksmith would they make me a new key it would be very expensive not wanting to do that or buy a new ignition my dx civics keys do not open the door. Thank you for the help much appreciated

Are all of the doors locked? If not, you should be able to pull one of the lock cores from the door handle (or hatch, or ignition), read the code stamped on it (or better yet, bring it with you) and get a locksmith to make you a key.

Provided the car is in your name, bring your license, registration, and possibly your title to any local Honda dealer. They will cut a fresh key for you based on the VIN. I did this for my 90 hatch back in 2011 when the key was so worn it wouldn't open the hatch cylinder but worked on every other one. I say title just in case, because they said they sometimes get people going through a divorce who try to steal the locked car from their former SO. They asked for my title but said I didn't need it after I offered to show them the car in the parking lot. It cost me around 21 bucks. Might be more these days. I would call the dealer first so you don't potentially waste a trip. This will also save you from having to remove a cylinder.

The doors are locked but I might be able to get the rear hatch open or figure something out to get a lock cylinder out. Both of these helped a lot I will go to my local Honda dealer and ask them about it thanks guys!

Good to know they still do it and for so cheap! Might wanna make a few copies of that new original key and just tuck it away somewhere.
