I am about to replace the distributor in my 1.8 year 2000 Accord, engine code F18B2(it's an European version). The distributor is leaking oil from the internal oil seal.... I was thinking that I would have to adjust the distributor with a timing light in order to adjust the ignition timing. At least that's what is described in the workshop manual. After getting a replacement distributor, I noticed that it is mounted with 2 bolts, one going though an oval hole and another tough a round hole. Since one of them is round, I will not be able to rotate the distributor to adjust it.... I haven't yet removed the old one or un-tightened the bolts to check if it rotates...
Can anyone confirm if the distributors on these cars can be adjusted or not?
Here is a picture of the new(2nd hand) distributor that I will install. You can clearly see the round and the oval holes that are used to mount the distributor.
Correct.
With the timing belt installed correctly, there is no need to be able to adjust the distributor. It is already clocked and timed from the factory.
In '96 USDM cars have this for OBDII
00' is for EDM and JDM vehicles.

Thanks for the info! Then I will just buy a new o-ring and replace the distributor :-)
The problem of fixing the leak is that I don't know the right size for the oil seal.
I could't find the dimensions for this distributor. It's an Hitachi D4T96-08, 30100-PDA-E02.
That's why I got a cheap second hand distributor. I will replace it, and then dissemble the old one so I can check the dimensions of the oil seal and fix the leak ;-)
I don’t understand why you can not adjust the timing withe new dizzy.it has one round hole and one oval. If it indeed fits the car. It would be adjustable. The round hole is the pivot point.

They are not adjustable. The ECU makes all adjustments to timing after the engine has been set to base timing.
In order for these distributors to be adjustable all the mounting holes have to be oblong. The pivot point cannot be off center from the shaft, the shaft is the center/pivot point.
